Acapulco is not as famous for it's sportsfishing as many other Mexican resorts. That does not mean that the fishing here is not extraordinary. Depending on the season, all of the same sport fish that are caught in Mazatlán, Puerto Vallarta or Zihuatanejo can also be found in Acapulco. Sport fishing in Acapulco was promoted heavily when Acapulco was known as Hollywood south, as the movie stars that flocked here always returned with lots of photos with their billfish. Sportfishing has slowly taken a back seat to Acapulco's status as "Party Town", but the fishing here can be incredible.
